Event Navigation

Get your first or second dose of a Covid-19 vaccine to protect yourself and help protect your community!

Brandon University is partnering with Prairie Mountain Health to offer Pfizer and Moderna vaccinations in Harvest Hall during the first week of classes. Vaccines are available:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 7 from 9–11 a.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 1–3 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 9 from 9–11 a.m.

Both first and second doses are available, and the clinic is open to everyone who is eligible to receive the vaccines. Anyone born on or before Dec. 31, 2009, is eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Anyone 18 years or older is eligible to receive either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

Employees of Brandon University can use paid time to attend Covid-19 vaccine appointments and can draw on sick time or other balances to cover side effects. Professors and instructors are encouraged to be flexible with students who are receiving a vaccine or experiencing side effects.

To support vaccination, Brandon University is also giving away more than $10,000 in prizes. Get vaccinated at this clinic, and enter at BrandonU.ca/Winning-Shot.

Vaccination Information

Both mRNA vaccines are safe, effective, and interchangeable. You do not need to wait for the same dose for your second shot. To get your second shot, you will need to know when you received your first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and the type of vaccine you received. If you do not recall this information and you have a Manitoba Health card, you can access the information online at sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/test-results. If your immunization record is incomplete or incorrect, or if you received a first dose outside of Manitoba, fill in this e-form to submit your information.

You will need to fill out a consent form for your first and second dose. This will ensure that any changes in your health status can be reviewed before your second dose, that providers will have the most up-to-date information in case you are getting a different vaccine, and that health professionals can review if you had an allergic reaction to a previous dose of the vaccine. Consent forms will be available at the clinics, however filling out the form in advance will also make it faster for you to get your vaccine. Click here to fill out and print the consent forms.

Brandon University is committed to being an accessible institution. To ensure that any event is available to all who are interested in attending, please advise us in advance of any accessibility considerations. Accessibility contact: communications@brandonu.ca
