IshKaabatens Waasa Gaa Inaabateg Department of Visual Art at Brandon University presents an artist talk by Simon Hughes.

Simon Hughes is a Winnipeg-based artist whose body of work includes painting, drawing and video. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba School of Art in 1996 and his Masters of Fine Arts at the University of California, Irvine in 2010. His subject matter engages with pop culture, imaginary architecture and Canadiana using a range of media including watercolour, ballpoint pen, and collaged materials, As well as his gallery exhibition record, he has also been involved with public art commissions and commercial design. He recently had a retrospective of his work from the past twenty years at the Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives in Brampton, Ontario.
