Friday, October 19th, 2018 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Clark Hall, Room 104

Event Navigation

Please join us for the next installment of the Faculty of Arts Speaker Series. Dr. Rosanne Gasse, Professor of English and Creative Writing, will present: “Mixed Ethnic Identity in Medieval English Romance”

Stories that centre on couples from two different ethnic backgrounds are rife in the medieval period. Yet stories that centre on the inevitable offspring produced by these numerous “mixed marriage” couples are far harder to find. What factors may exist which resolve the hesitations and reluctance associated with the apparent deviance of mixed identity in Middle English romances?

Light refreshments will be provided! Hope to see you there.
