BFA thesis exhibition — closing reception
Event Navigation
Note: This event takes place in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Two Brandon University Bachelor of Fine Art thesis students, with the support of the Department of Visual and Aboriginal Art, will be exhibiting their artwork in Winnipeg.
Jill Gervais and Jimmie Kilpatrick will be installing selections of their thesis exhibitions in Ace Art Inc’s Project Room from April 24 to May 4. A closing reception will also take place, on Friday May 4, from 7–10 p.m.
Gervais’ work examines escapism and pop culture through intricate ceramic dioramas based on the TV show Friends.
Kilpatrick, who also performs indie rock internationally under the stage moniker “Shotgun Jimmie”, will present work that investigates sound and perception through sculpture, performance, and video.
BFA honours students at Brandon University spend their fall and winter semesters producing a new body of work as a solo exhibition at BU’s Glen P. Sutherland Gallery. This year, the students will also be sharing their work with a wider audience by travelling their shows to Ace Art Inc’s Project Room in Winnipeg.
All are invited to join Jill and Jimmie as they celebrate the culmination of their year’s work and the arrival of spring.
