The generosity of donors and volunteers will be recognized by the Brandon University (BU) Foundation on Wednesday during its Annual Luncheon at BU’s Harvest Hall.

The role of the BU Foundation is to raise, steward and distribute charitable donations that support the academic mission of Brandon University, including through student scholarships and bursaries, research and other academic initiatives, equipment, and library resources. In 2018, the BU Foundation received more than $1.2 million in donations and contributions, with more than $300,000 received through the Annual Fund.

Last year, the BU Foundation disbursed more than $2.8 million to the University, including more than $1.6 million directly to student scholarships.

Among those who will be honoured at the Annual Luncheon will be the new members inducted into the Order of the Sheaf, and those who have advanced to a new level of recognition. The Order of the Sheaf recognizes donors with cumulative gifts to the BU Foundation of $1,000 or more.

Speakers will include BU Foundation President Dr. Bill Myers, BU President & Vice-Chancellor Dr. David Docherty, and BU students Parker Easter and Ingrid Flett.

The Luncheon will begin at noon with speeches scheduled to begin at 12:30.
