The BU Teaching Enhancement Conference 2021 – A Wider Welcome: fostering greater equity, diversity and inclusion in class will be online by Zoom the morning of September 1 from 9 – 11:30 a.m.
There is no charge for admission.
Welcome by Dr. David Docherty, BU President & Vice-Chancellor
Opening Prayer by Cree Knowledge Keeper Susie McPherson – Derendy
Keynote by Dr. Kofi Campbell, BU Vice-President Academic & Provost
Break 1
Guests will be assigned to one of two workshops (40 minutes) in a blue and gold stream
A Wider Welcome led by Dr. Campbell
Pulling Together in Manitoba led by Chris Lagimodiere, Acting Indigenous Advisor to the President and Kris Desjarlais, Director of Indigenous Education at Assiniboine Community College.
Chris, Kris and company will connect you to highlights of the new Indigenization text, “Pulling Together in Manitoba”.
Break 2
Workshop leaders will switch to the other stream (gold leader to blue zoom, blue leader to gold zoom) so that everyone learns from both workshops.
At 11:30 we are done.
Those wishing to stay online for a debrief are welcome to do so. An evaluation survey will be sent the day of the conference.
