Event Navigation

The longest running and largest professional development conference for teachers in Manitoba — BYTE (Build Your Own Teaching Experience) — is coming to Brandon University. Hosted in the Faculty of Education building and the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium, BYTE will welcome about 200 attendees, including many students from the BU Faculty of Education.

The daylong ticketed conference, held on Valentine’s Day, Friday, Feb. 14, features the appropriate theme of I Love To Read: Embracing Literacy In A Digital Era.

The conference provides many professional development sessions for teachers and pre-service teachers, and welcomes as a keynote speaker the author and creator of “Ditch that Textbook,” Matt Miller.

This year the BU Education Career Fair is running simultaneously in the basement of the WMCA, welcoming representatives from more than 32 schools.

For more information, visit the conference website.
