Brandon University welcomes Canada’s newest citizens! An official citizenship ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 13 in the main gym of the BU Healthy Living Centre.

Up to 184 candidates are expected to be sworn in during the ceremony, which will be conducted by the federal Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship. The ceremony is due to start at 10 a.m. and is expected to take about an hour.

During the ceremony, the national anthem will be performed by Ram Ignacio, a BU vocal performance major in the School of Music. Ignacio is from the Philippines and recently became a Canadian citizen.

All are welcome, there is no charge to attend, and light refreshments will be provided. Photo and video are permitted during the ceremonies.
