Brandon University is exploring an overhaul of our legacy software systems, including the possibility of moving to an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This very large software package would replace much of our custom-built software and would give BU modern tools to run our student records and administrative systems.

This would be a significant transformation, so we are partnering with CampusWorks. They are consultants who have worked with over 100 post-secondary institutions and are noted for both their vendor independence and their high-levels of expertise and experience in the full range of ERP solutions.

We are hosting targeted workshops and open forums with CampusWorks in early February. These workshops will provide the opportunity to learn more about the ERP options, to provide feedback, and to help both our consultants and all of us to better understand the challenges and opportunities in your area.

Faculty & Staff Open Forum

The faculty/staff forum is designed to provide faculty members and administrators the opportunity to provide their input and perspectives on their current interaction with the administrative systems – what works and what doesn’t, what they would like the system to be able to do as the University moves into the future. In some cases, faculty only interact with the administrative system on a limited basis but their roles at the University are so critically important that we want to ensure their experiences and needs are represented. The forum also provides the administrative staff, who may or may not be included in the functional meetings, an opportunity to provide their feedback. These forums are designed to be an open opportunity for participants to share their thoughts in a candid and open manner.
