Brandon University is exploring an overhaul of our legacy software systems, including the possibility of moving to an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This very large software package would replace much of our custom-built software and would give BU modern tools to run our student records and administrative systems.

This would be a significant transformation, so we are partnering with CampusWorks. They are consultants who have worked with over 100 post-secondary institutions and are noted for both their vendor independence and their high-levels of expertise and experience in the full range of ERP solutions.

We are hosting targeted workshops and open forums with CampusWorks in early February. These workshops will provide the opportunity to learn more about the ERP options, to provide feedback, and to help both our consultants and all of us to better understand the challenges and opportunities in your area.

Student Open Forum

The student forum is designed to provide students with a voice in the ERP selection process. The student perspective is vitally important to the success of this type of selection process and we want to hear from them. We will ask some general questions to get them talking about what they like and do not like about the current administrative system that they use on campus. We will take them through questions pertaining to admissions, enrollment, registration, advising, financing/payment and any other topics they think we should discuss. The forum is designed to get the students talking about anything and everything they want to discuss related to the administrative system and processes they have experienced. We want to know what they think would serve their needs better from an administrative systems perspective and what functionality they would want moving into the future.
