Louis Riel Day celebrations

Brandon University (BU) will be the site of the Louis Riel Day Fun Family Celebration, presented by Grand Valley Local on Monday, Feb. 18.
The event, which is open to the entire community, will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at Harvest Hall, BU’s main dining facility. Among the activities planned are storytelling, face painting, beading, spoon-playing lessons and a jigging demonstration and lessons. The event will also feature free food and a live band performing traditional music.
A cultural display and a historical display by the Louis Riel Institute will be set up in front of Harvest Hall.
There is no charge to attend the Fun Family Celebration, and parking on the BU campus will be free as well.
