Luncheon with Chris LaBossiere
Brandon University is proud to sponsor a Samaritan House fundraising luncheon featuring Chris LaBossiere on Wednesday, March 6 at Clarion Hotel & Suites Brandon.
LaBossiere, the co-founder of Yardstick Software, Inc, has been named one of Alberta’s 50 Most Influential People and one of Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40.
An entrepreneur and investor with a philanthropic attitude, LaBossiere will describe his journey from adverse experiences as a youth to his career as an entrepreneur and investor making disruptive progress in the Canadian business world. It is his personal experience which underpins his dynamic nature and strong philanthropic attitude.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m., lunch will be served at noon, followed by LaBossiere’s presentation.
Yardstick is known as the leading provider of exams for physicians, nurses, engineers and other professionals in Canada. They develop and deliver tests for about 100 organizations as well perform training for about 500 clients in regulated industries. Yardstick has over 100 employees across offices in Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto.
Starting out, Chris helped lead his company to win the Alberta Venture Prize competition in 2006 for best fast-growth business model. Yardstick has subsequently appeared on the Alberta Venture Magazine’s Fast 50 list of fastest growing companies for the past nine years and for six years on Profit Magazine’s Fastest Growing Companies in Canada.
