Music with the Stars: Canada Day astronomical observations
Event Navigation
There’s more than fireworks in the sky tonight!
While participating in the fun and festivities at the Riverbank Discovery Centre for Canada Day, why not cast your gaze to the night sky and see what celestial objects are twinkling above.
The Brandon University Astronomical Observatory will be hosting Canada Day night sky observations at the Riverbank Discovery Centre, with up to six telescopes for public use. Depending on weather, there will be opportunities to see Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn as well as many other wonders of the night.
Viewing is scheduled to start at 9 p.m., with the music of Jenerator on stage nearby. Fireworks are expected to start around 10:30 p.m. or 11 p.m.
The BU Observatory also has limited space on the rooftop for fireworks viewing and observations.
