Select Scandals in Manitoba Beekeeping
September 10 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Concourse, McMaster Hall
Presentation by Justin Cruz, Lily Hodgson, and Deanna Smid
Did you know that honeybees were first brought to Manitoba in 1863? We (Deanna Smid, Lily Hodgson, and Justin Cruz) only found that out during this past summer, one of extensive research into the history of beekeeping in Manitoba. In the course of our research, we discovered that 163 years of beekeeping in our province have been both sweet and stinging. In this talk, we will share the discoveries that made us gasp, including an unexpected connection to Louis Riel. Please join us in front of Ancillary Services with the Bee U bees as our backdrop. We hope our dialogue will be *ahem* cross-pollinating.
