Teachings House — Conversations around the fire
Event Navigation
The BU Teachings House is a gathering place for the sharing of Indigenous knowledge and gathering place for all Nations.
Conversations around the fire will be held on Wednesday, June 21 in the Turtle Fire ceremonial fire pit in the campus courtyard.
Join BU Knowledge Keepers Susie McPherson-Derendy and Barb Blind as we honour National Indigenous Peoples Day and mark the summer solstice with conversations around the fire.
Fire Keepers will light and tend to a sacred fire, while offering fire keeping teachings. The sacred fire will burn, honouring the memory of Indigenous children and those impacted by the recovery of unmarked graves.
All are invited to attend!
Coffee, tea, and bannock provided.
