“Inter-generationally – story is key. Every one of our stories is unique. These have brought us to where we are and it is important to share these with others, as a way to provide hope.”

   — Cree Knowledge Keeper Susie McPherson

The winter months are for storytelling.

In this virtual book club series, we will read and reflect on the stories and experiences of residential school survivors, in their own words, and engage in dialogue around rebuilding, reconciliation, and renewal.

Beginning in January, we will meet bi-weekly to reflect on the collection of essays within each section of the book. Led by Cree Knowledge Keeper, Susie McPherson, reflection and sharing will take place in the form of learning circles. Prior to each circle, those joining the conversation will be able to access the readings for discussion either:

          OR

  • In hard copy, as we have 13 copies available from BU CARES and distributed through the BU Library
