The concertmasster of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Diana Cohen, joins forces with her father Franklin, the distinguished, long-time principal clarinetist of the Cleveland Orchestra, and her husband, concert pianist Roman Rabinovich, for this leap day performance. The programme includes Prokofiev's Piano Sonata No. 8, Op. 84, Dutilleux's Piano Sonate, and Kapustin's Piano Sonata No. 2, Op. 54. A professor of piano at UBC and a champion of new music, Hamm has commissioned, premiered and recorded more than 200 compositions, including works for solo piano and concerti for piano and orchestra.
