Free diabetes testing clinic
Event Navigation
#Dynacare4Diabetes will be holding a free diabetes testing clinic at the Healthy Living Centre (Classroom 002) at Brandon University on Tuesday, November 22nd from 4 pm – 7 pm. This clinic is open to the public.
The goal is to spread awareness that many people have a higher risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, including people who have a family history of the disease, are over 40 or overweight, or people of Indigenous, African and Asian descent.
The clinic will provide a free A1C (blood sugar) test along with information on preventing and living with diabetes.
This is the fifth year that Dynacare and Diabetes Canada have joined forces for this campaign. As the province’s largest diabetes wellness initiative, the campaign offers free testing throughout November while raising awareness of the risk factors associated with Type 2 diabetes. They are hoping to test 50,000 Manitobans during the campaign.
Dynacare will also donate $0.50 to Diabetes Canada for every A1C test in November up to $25,000.
Brandon University is committed to being an accessible institution. To ensure that any event is available to all who are interested in attending, please advise us in advance of any accessibility considerations. Accessibility contact: communications@brandonu.ca
