Event Navigation

Brandon University’s John E. Robbins Library is partnering with the Western Manitoba Regional Library to host distinguished author and political commentator Gwynne Dyer for a special lecture at the university.

Dyer, an independent Canadian journalist and longtime syndicated columnist, will speak on “The Populist Revolt: Its Causes and Cure.” His talk will look at the factors fueling the current rise of populism and angry nationalism, in both Europe and in North America. He will also explore options for addressing the needs and demands brought forth by angry populists, including the least revolutionary answer to the revolutionary change that is coming.

The lecture will be hosted on Monday, May 6, in the Lorne Watson Recital Hall at BU’s Queen Elizabeth II Music Building. There is no admission charge, however space may be limited. The talk begins at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a brief Q-and-A and then a reception.

Brandon University is committed to being an accessible institution. To ensure that any event is available to all who are interested in attending, please advise us in advance of any accessibility considerations. Accessibility contact: communications@brandonu.ca
