Brandon Chamber Players, Lied-ing Man

Franz Schubert’s Octet in F Major, D.803, was commissioned by clarinetist Ferdinand Troyer, who wished to have a work similar to Beethoven’s Septet in E-flat major, op.20, which the BCP performed last season. Also on the programme is Schubert’s song Der Wanderer, the inspiration for the opening movement of the Octet. Jeremy Dutcher The programme will include tracks from Dutcher’s groundbreaking recording entitled Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa.  A trained operatic tenor, Toronto-based Jeremy Dutcher’s creative approach to writing morphs from classical to jazz, through contemporary and traditional elements.
