Jammie Lee, a Grade XI student in Vincent Massey High School, is a scholarship student in the Eckhardt–Gramatté Conservatory. He won national recognition in the Canadian Music Competitions, winning second at the National Finals in Montreal in 2011. He represented Manitoba in piano in 2016 at the National Music Festival in Edmonton where, as the youngest performer, he placed third, and was awarded a scholarship.
Lee has just learned that his audition, recorded in Brandon and sent to the Curtis Institute of Music, is to result in a live audition in Philadelphia on March 18.
His pieces on this program will include Bach’s Partita No. 2, Beethoven’s Sonata in D, Op. 10 N. 3, Chopin’s Nocturne in D-flat major, Op. 27 No. 2, and Mendelssohn’s Fantasy in F-sharp minor, Op. 28 (also known as his “Scottish Sonata”).
