Brandon University Big Band featuring special guest Rich Brown
Event Navigation
The Brandon University Big Band (BUBB) is one of the best and most eclectic large ensembles in collegiate North America, and the premier performing ensemble of Brandon University’s Jazz and Contemporary Popular Music Program. Under the direction of Michael Cain, this ensemble plays music that ranges from traditional big band repertoire such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Thad Jones, as well as a wide range of contemporary popular music of today. While the ensemble is rooted in the language and tradition of jazz, past performances have included music from Prince, Jay Z, Beyonce, Snarky Puppy, 21 Pilots, Fela Kuti, Aretha Franklin, and Kendrick Lamar to name a few. Noted for it’s exceptional individual musicianship and tight ensemble performances, a BUBB concert is an event not to be missed.
